Have you ever thought why you drink water?
You may be able to survive without food for a couple of days or maybe years but you can’t survive without water. ( There are documented cases of people all across the globe living and surviving just on water for years, but given no food, people have starved to death just in couple of weeks ). The human body is made of made of approx 60% water and rest is tissue, muscle mass, and bone.
What happens when you sleep for about 6 -8 hours? Your body has rest well and has broken down the food. Now it is in need of water to help it move further, the first thing that you should do after waking up from a long sleep is drink plenty of water, there are many health benefits of doing so:
- It helps in bowel movement
- It helps to re- hydrate our body
- It helps in cleansing our system
- It cools down your body temperature
- It helps in excretion of toxins and bodily waste from out body.
- It helps you lose weight
- It helps keep your skin glowing and youthful and I could go on for days about it
If I could choose one synonym for water, I would say WATER == LIFE. Try to deprive yourself of water one whole day and you will understand what I mean, by the end of the day you will be cranky like a baby !!
Most of us do not have the habit of drinking water and we feel thirsty only when we see someone drinking water or see a source of drinking water, its absolutely normal if you feel so too. You must be wondering, How much water should you drink ?
To cultivate this habit, carry a water of bottle of water to your workplace and keep it near all the time so that you are reminded to drink water and once you do this for a couple of days, it will become a habit. After this exercise you will be more tuned with your body and understand its needs better, this will go a long way !!
